The field of equine assisted services is growing and expanding at a rapid pace. Feeling prepared to do quality equine assisted work is about getting the essentials right.

During this conference, we are looking for speakers who can help our community rise rooted-to feel the strength and purpose that comes with practicing the foundational concepts of this work and to rise from that place of deep understanding to build stronger, more attuned relationships.
Rooted 2025 follows four distinct tracks:
1. Horsemanship & Horse Care
2. Facilitation & Clinical Skills
3. Business Building
4. Personal Development
Submit a presentation proposal
Now, we want to hear from you. What do you believe is essential for our field?
We invite you to submit a presentation proposal on any topic of interest that fits into one of the four categories. Special interest will be given to proposals that dive into the following topics:
Horsemanship and Horse Care
- Physical horse care based on NL principles and the most recent research
- Application of NL principles in everyday routines
- Herd management
- Social/Emotional care of EAS horses
- Essentials of Mounted Work
Facilitation and Clinical Skills
- Essentials of experiential facilitation (separate from horses)
- Essentials of Somatic work
- Essentials of Cognitive work (socratic method, CBT, DBT, etc)
- Essentials of Trauma Processing
- Movement based interventions
- Rhythm, music, art
- Play based approaches
Business Building
- Nonprofit vs. for profit
- Billing Health Insurance
- Keeping Liability Insurance costs down
- Creating a viable business plan
- Business practices based in NL principles
- The “M words” – Marketing and Money!
- Knowing your community/Being involved in your community
- The art of team management and supervision
Personal Development
- Exploring your own attachment style
- Principles of pressure in your internal experience
- Pre and Post session practices for intention and reflection
- Grounding practices you can do anytime (even during a session)
- Enneagram or other assessments for personal growth
- Mindfulness, meditation, movement, etc.
- Self tracking and listening to your body
All topics in this category should be workshop-style and highly experiential.
Join our mission to provide a solid foundation for everyone in EAS by being a presenter at the conference in 2025.

Are you working on NL Certification?
Presenting at and attending the conference can meet two requirements towards Advanced Certification!
Attending the full conference satisfies the Specialty Training requirement of Advanced Certification.
Presenting fulfills the Project requirement.
Also, being a presenter will get you a discount to attend the conference. You’ll get $200 off for a 90-minute presentation and $400 off for a 3-hour presentation.
